Marta Cimadevila
CIBERNED
Postdoctoral Researcher
I am Marta, a pharmacologist specializing in GPCR modulation in the context of neuroscience. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), where I focused on GPCR pharmacology applied in early drug discovery at the INNOPHARMA platform (EU-OPENSCREEN), under the supervision of Dr. Loza. This work led to the completion of my PhD on 2020.
Following this, I began my postdoctoral research in "Neuroreceptors, Dynamics and Function" (Montpellier, France), a leading team in applying cutting-edge technologies to pharmacology. Supervised by Dr. Pin and funded by the Fundación Alfonso Martín Escudero (FAME) and the European Commission (MSCA-PF), my research explored the mechanisms of GPCR internalization and its connection to neurological disorders (2021-2025).
In 2025 I have joined the Neurobiology Lab led by Dr. Matute to focus in the physiological and pathological consequences of GPCR activation, in the frame of ARISTOS (CIBER network; European Commission). In particular, I am interested in elucidating how GPCR stimulation of oligodendrocytes affects myelin dynamics in mice, by using Designer Receptors Exclusively Activated by Designer Drugs (DREADDs) and imaging strategies.
